Here I sit in Starbucks yet again…working on “stuff” (as I put it to a friend of mine I saw today) and listening to Pandora. It’s a wonderful day.
Across the room, two CU students sit close together digging into God’s word together. They are already preparing themselves for a year of serving Christ and the student body through corporate worship every Sunday night. Their hearts, minds and actions are beginning to work themselves toward this calling and I can only imagine how much it’s going to pay off.
Outside, a group of friends sits chatting about writing. They laugh at each others’ short stories and misadventures from the summer. The introduce themselves to newly invited friends, sip on their iced lattes and enjoy the company of one another more than anything else in life. Meanwhile, a young lady eagerly types on her computer (most likely chatting with a summer fling via web-chat) and two woman discuss love, life and struggles with one another. As the sun sets and the pinkish-orange hue starts to fill the sky, individuals pull on jackets and rub their hands on the tops of their legs to keep warm. As my music plays on I watch the lives on my fellow coffeehouse patrons move on like a scene from the latest Sundance film.
It’s the perfect summer night: coffee, fellowship and a beautiful sunset.
I’m loving my life right now. I am eager, excited and mostly content with everything God has brought before me. I am happy…truly happy.
I end like this a lot, but God is good.
